Wood & Engineered Wood Flooring

When you order solid wood flooring or engineered wood flooring, it’s important to consider factors like surface finish, maintenance, and proper board usage. Many collections include up to 25% nested boards within each box, this means that some boards are shorter lengths which helps to reduce wastage. You should also consider adding a 10% over allowance.

Before installation, ensure your chosen floor is allowed to acclimatise in the intended room and remember to use a suitable method—whether bonding, floating, or nailing—based on the product’s specifications. Once installed, regular cleaning with recommended products and re-oiling (where applicable) help preserve the finish and prolong your floor’s natural beauty.

Wood Grading & Character

Wood grading describes the level of natural characteristics visible on the surface. ACBD or “Select” grade generally features minimal knots and a cleaner aesthetic, while Character grade includes more noticeable grain patterns and knots without being overly rustic. Rustic grade increases the prominence of knots, colour variation, and lively grain details. Rustic+ pushes these features a little further, enhancing each plank’s individuality for a truly authentic wood floor.

Product Description

The Natural Beauty of Solid Oak Wood Flooring

Buckingham Solid Unfinished Oak embodies the timeless appeal of natural wood, allowing you to bring authentic craftsmanship into your home. Made from solid European oak, each plank is cut to showcase the intricate grain patterns and rustic textures that define quality hardwood flooring. With a robust 20mm thickness, this solid hardwood flooring provides strength and durability, ensuring it stands the test of time. The generous plank width of 160mm and variable lengths between 400mm and 2400mm create a fluid, organic layout that enhances both modern and traditional spaces. Left unfinished, the floor allows you to apply your preferred treatment, whether it be oiling, waxing, or lacquering, to achieve a finish that complements your style.

A Versatile Approach to Light Oak Wood Flooring

This flooring brings a refined yet natural aesthetic to any setting, offering medium-toned oak that adapts beautifully to different interiors. The rustic grade showcases an authentic mix of knots, colour variations, and grain details, ensuring that every plank has its own unique charm. Whether you are transforming a cosy living room, a stylish commercial space, or a period property, this light oak wood flooring provides a perfect foundation. The tongue and groove joint type ensures a seamless fit, making installation straightforward with a bond method for lasting stability.

Built to Last with the Strength of Solid Hardwood Flooring

Choosing Buckingham Solid Unfinished Oak means investing in a floor that is designed for longevity. Unlike engineered alternatives, solid hardwood flooring offers the ability to be sanded and refinished multiple times, making it an ideal option for spaces that demand durability and adaptability. While not suitable for underfloor heating, this flooring naturally retains warmth and provides a solid underfoot feel. By selecting an unfinished surface, you maintain full control over the final appearance, ensuring a floor that grows in beauty as it ages. Whether left raw for a natural look or finished with a protective coat, this is a floor designed to become part of your home’s story for generations.
