Solid and Engineered Wood Flooring

Floorshacks collection of wood flooring is where timeless wood with natural beauty is paired with everyday durability. If you’re renovating a property, fitting out a rental, or specifying flooring for a commercial project, our range of solid wood and engineered wood flooring covers every style, budget, and room.

Solid Wood vs. Engineered Wood Flooring

Choosing between solid and engineered wood comes down to where it’s going and how it’ll be used.

Solid wood flooring is milled from a single piece of timber, giving it exceptional longevity, it can be sanded and refinished many times over its lifespan, making it a long-term investment for period homes and living spaces.

Engineered wood flooring is built from layers of real wood bonded together, with a genuine timber wear layer on top. It’s more dimensionally stable than solid wood, handles humidity and underfloor heating better, and is available in 3mm, 4mm, and 6mm wear layers depending on how much refinishing you might want down the line.

Wood Flooring Shapes: Plank and Herringbone

Beyond the material, the shape sets the character of a room.

  • Plank flooring โ€” the classic choice, laid in long, straight boards for a clean, contemporary look. Our wide plank options make a strong statement in larger, open-plan spaces.
  • Parquet & Herringbone flooring โ€” a classic parquet pattern that adds instant character and a sense of craftsmanship, popular in both period and modern interiors.

Wood Grades Explained

Grade refers to how much natural character, knots, grain variation and colour differences are visible in the timber:

  • ABC Grade โ€” the most uniform, consistent appearance
  • Character Grade โ€” a balance of natural features and consistency
  • Rustic Grade and Rustic+ โ€” the most natural, characterful look, with visible knots and grain variation

Finding the Right Wood Tone

From light and cool tones that open up smaller rooms, to medium and rich dark finishes for a warmer, more dramatic feel โ€” our full tone range is filterable above.
